At the end of the "damned pipe"
At this point Elna, seeming to have had a sad premonition, asked Nega an unpleasant question: - Why, when you were talking before about us being accelerated in this pipe, did you use the expression "this damned pipe"?

     - That's another story which I'll tell you later, - answered Nega hastily, as if she didn't want to go into the matter. - Now the time is over and we have to say good-bye.

     - To say good-bye? Are you leaving us? - asked the two girl-electrons in surprise.

     - We are arriving at the Great Party. Do you see that little spot down there getting larger and larger?

A tear appeared in Nega's eye. She drew the two young friends close and stroked them gently as only a mother can do.

     - Anything could happen, close your eyes and run! - she shouted.

A hell fire
With a flashing movement and gathering all her energy, Nega pushed the two girl-electrons out of the beam.Then, exhausted by the tremendous effort, she continued running. A moment later there was a terrible explosion and a blinding fire lit up at the point of the "Great Party". A huge heat was given off at the point. And, like in a phantasmagorical firework display, a great quantity of particles spurted out from of the fire.

Elna e Kate were petrified, struck dumb. They had never seen anything like it: a real hell fire.

An old electron, who had watched the scene, approached them and slowly, with a resigned tone, said:
